Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous Crown Staffordshire double bird figurine in the Blanc de Chine finish. The figurine is all white featuring two small birds perched on branch. The branch and base are decorated with groups of hand applied florals, berry clusters and sprigs of foliage. The figurine is in good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs to the bird sculptures although there one of the floral groups on the base is missing the flower (see photos). This is almost unnoticeable and doesn’t detract at all from this lovely figurine. You have to get a magnifying glass to be sure of the noted flaw. It would be a beautiful addition to any porcelain bird collection. Marked with Crown Staffordshire “Crown” trademark stamp, “Staffordshire, Made in England” and “Designed and modelled by J.T. Jones”. J.T. Jones was the Art Director at Crown Staffordsire for over 30 years and one of the most collected artists working there. Born in 1898 he joined Crown Staffordshire at age 13 and worked for the company for 47 years. He is best known for the range of bird groups he designed. Measures 8 1/2 ” high, 9 1/2″ wide and 3″ deep.
