Extra-Rare Original piece of the black mourning cloth that covered the casket & stand of President Warren G. Harding as it laid in state in the Capitol building in 1923! Soft piece of black cloth has been attached to a beautiful display certificate with 2 pictures of President Harding inset as well as a COPY of the handwritten note from the “Harding Memorial Association” in Marion, Ohio that identifies the cloth as genuine-Again, the note is a COPY, I have the original in my own collection-Harding was a popular President when he died, but would be remembered as one of the most inept & corruptible men to have ever held the oval office after all of the scandals of his administration were brought to light after his death-I personally obtained this piece of the black cloth from the collection of a longtime Political Collector & Harding specialist in Ohio that died a few years ago-I am selling pieces of the cloth that are all cut from the original piece in my own collection to help recoup some of my investment-The pieces are all goo, large sized pieces approximately 2″ long by 1/2″ tall-I was the original source for these-The cloth piece might not be the EXACT one pictured here, but it will be very similar in size and quality as each one is different and unique-I have seen other eBayers selling these remnants for $75-low price on this one-This is an ORIGINAL item, NOT A REPRODUCTION item!
