All of these bulbs are raised fresh in my own personal flower gardens. The bulbs are fresh and are ready to plant upon arrival. The sizes of the bulbs range widely, as with anything that is grown underground, you never know the exact size until you have dug them up. The Yellow flag iris is a perennial, aquatic, herbaceous plant which grows in height between 2 to 3 feet tall along shores in shallow water. This makes them ideal for growing around the edges of water features in yards of gardens. Rhizomes spread and form large clumps. They also grow well along borders in flower gardens and makes a great background plant. The flowers, few to several are located near stem ends. Flowers range in color from pale to dark yellow, with brownish purple mottled markings. The flowers have 3 sepals and 3 petals, with petals shorter than sepals. The stem and basal leaves present. Basal leaves are broad, flat, sword-shaped and stalkless. Stem leaves reduce in size going up the stem, and are branched once and solid. Yellow flag irises grow in temperate wetlands along the margins of lakes and slow-moving rivers. It is most commonly found in very shallow water or mud. It tolerates drying and anoxic sediment and is also tolerant of some salinity, and high soil acidity. After the yellow flag iris has completed it’s blooming cycle for the year, capsules form from the flowers, and are somewhat 3 angled and filled with flattened, D-shaped seeds. You can plant these bulbs in raised gardens, pots, or vegetable gardens. I will very carefully and tediously package these items up with extreme care so that the package withstands it’s travels while in transit. I will mail this package out to you via USPS Priority Mail.
