– Will combine shipping for multiple purchases. Here is a World War II Army Air Force Communications Specialist Patch Sleeve Insignia. This AAF Specialist Sleeve Insignia represents an early War Green Back variation . A Radioman wearing this patch would have flown as a bomber crewman and doubled as a dorsal gunner . Ground echelon radio mechanics and cryptographers also wore this lower sleeve patch . Some bomb groups allowed ground crew and ground personnel to fly a couple or so missions, after gunnery and flight training. Most took up the offer for 1 mission, while a few flew 5 or more times and actually earned air medals. The patch is embroidered and was removed from a uniform. It is at least 78 years old, probably older and is in fair condition.
