Part # 82439879 REPLACE THAT BROKEN OR ALMOST BROKEN ORIGINAL FUEL DOOR HINGE WITH A BRAND NEW ONE THAT’S STRONGER! It’s usually the little parts that you don’t pay attention to when they work but, wow, when they break you know it! One of these is the fuel door hinge, a part that Volvo made notoriously weak. Thanks to small thin plastic tabs that hold the spring on, original hinges normally don’t last very long (and hopefully breaks when at the gas station so you at least don’t lose the fuel door too). These new hinges (with the spring – something Volvo wants to sell you separately) are reinforced at these weak points so they’ll last a lot longer. Fairly easy installation but be sure to put the hinge on the door first and then install the assembly on the car (being careful to not scratch the paint). An inexpensive fix to an annoying problem! Do it once – do it right!
