The easiest way to grow moss for your moss gardens, terrariums, and vivariums. Just spread the soil out where you would like the moss to grow, add water, and you will soon have a lush, green carpet of moss covering your desired surface. This product consists of finely textured mineral soil, organic sphagnum peat moss, and live sheet moss spores with bits of ground-up moss. The mineral soil provides a smooth, compact, acidic surface for the moss to cling to while the peat helps retain the moisture that moss needs to thrive. Once water is added to the mix, the moss spores and pieces of moss will begin to grow. The result is that you will have a lush, green carpet of moss covering your desired surface in no time. The first image above shows an up-close view of the exact type of moss that you will be growing. It’s called sheet moss, due to its growth habit of forming thick carpets or “sheets”. This moss is exceptionally beautiful and is the ideal type of moss for achieving a thick, uniform coverage over terrarium backgrounds or gardens. The last image shows how the soil looks when you receive it, before you add water. Please select desired amount at checkout. Instructions: 1. Spread the soil where you would like your moss to grow. Make sure the soil is compacted and smoothed out. 2. Water liberally. 3. Use the appropriate amount of light. Moss grown outdoors prefers to be in the shade, while moss grown under artificial light benefits from much more light.
