However, occasionally they can wear out, or you may prefer another size of shaft specific for your model. We offer factory replacement shafts for all the HKII-45 series Scorpion Helicopter Motors. This shaft kit is for the HKII-4525 series motors, and is the SHORT shaft option. The pinion end of this shaft is ground down to 6mm with 35mm length, with appropriate flat spot to allow the user to install the required pinion. The shafts can be cut shorter with a Dremel tool and a cut-off wheel if necessary. Note: The shafts in the Scorpion motors are a slight press fit into the aluminium front housing. The shafts will not just slide out when the set screws are removed. They need to be pressed out with a arbor press, with the front housing of the motor supported in a block of wood to prevent warping the front housing. This HKII shaft is compatible with previous motor versions such as HK-45 series motors. However, some minor modification may be required.
