For that reason, I drew it with a dark background in mind. – To express Mechagodzilla’s image of “silver” and “bravely facing Godzilla,” I used the reverse side (silver) of antique-looking Kyoto brocade fabric. – Real gold leaf is used to represent the Garuda (the launch vehicle behind him), his mouth, and the energy that stores the rays in his belly. – Real gold leaf is used to represent the shadow areas in order to emphasize the body of the mechanism. – By drawing him in a pose from below at an angle, I express the awesomeness of Mechagodzilla emitting the rays. – Smoke is emitted from the Garuda (the launch vehicle behind him) to represent Mechagodzilla preparing to fly into the sky. ◆Artist Nishijima Kazufumi He was born in Gifu Prefecture in1969. He studied Japanese painting from a young age and made his professional debut in 1988. He is good at Kachoga and portraits. Kachoga is a genre of traditional Japanese painting. Kachoga depict flowering trees and birds. He has been painting hanging scroll artwork for many years.
