A stunning French Limoge porcelain handled ewer hand painted with birds and flowering shrubs by Martial Redon and dating from around 1885. The ewer stands raised on a molded shell shaped foot with recessed base with a wide rounded bell shaped body with heavily molded spiral ribbing narrowing to a slender neck with a raised shell shaped pouring spout. The ewer has a stylized handle applied to the side. The ewer is exquisitely decorated with birds amidst flowering shrubs to one side and a leafy shrub to the opposite side with extensive use of fine gilding combined with colored enamels on a blush pink and green ground. With powdered gilding to the handle around the spout and lower body of the ewer. With printed makers marks to the base. In great condition.would like to take more pictures if needed.
