It is native to New York, Ontario, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. It is commonly known as Blue Magnolia, Cucumber Tree, or Cucumber Magnolia and is a perennial growing up to 75ft by 35 ft. It is a low-maintenance tree that prefers full sun to part shade and medium water. A deciduous magnolia that produces slightly fragrant, greenish-yellow, tulip-like flowers. You can find it in blossom from April to May. Hardiness Zone 3-8 Germination Place your seeds and some soil in a ziplock bag. Moisten the mixture enough, so it sticks together without water dripping out. Write the name of the seeds on the bag. Place the mixture in your refrigerator for 60 days. Seeds can then be sown into a well-drained, sandy compost and covered lightly with sand or grit. Place the seed tray in filtered bright light and keep moist until germination.
