This RJ45 to 6-pin ethernet cable adapter, specifically designed for the Philips Hue Lightstrip system, enables you to create a break in your LED lightstrips instead of having one continuous lightstrip. It also gives you the flexibility to distance your controller from your first lightstrip. The possibilities are endless! When selecting an ethernet cable, it is best to use a cable size of 24AWG or less . Compatible with most standard CAT5, CAT6 and CAT7 ethernet cables. NOTE: If you want to connect this product directly to the Philips Lightstrip Plus Controller, you MUST use the Litcessory “Controller to 6-Pin Adapter” to do so. Create your own custom-length ethernet extension cables or use off-the-shelf ethernet cables purchased at any retailer. Male ends are removable, converting them to female. Frequently Asked Questions: Will Litcessory products cause my lightstrip to be dimmer? No, Litcessory products do not affect the brightness of the lights, as long as your total lightstrip run length (lightstrips plus any Litcessory product length) stays within 10 meters/33 feet, your lights will be just as bright! What is reverse polarity, and how do I fix it? Reverse polarity happens when you plug in the wrong side of a 6-pin connector. The flow of electricity gets reversed, and the lightstrip won’t turn on. This is a common occurrence when setting up your project and it is easily fixed. Is the total recommended length of the lightstrip (10 meters/33 feet) affected by the extension cable and/or an ethernet cable? Is it 10 meters/33 feet plus the length of the ethernet cable? We recommend keeping your total lightstrip run under 10 meters/33 feet. This includes the total length of your lightstrips and any Litcessory products and ethernet cables. Some customers have reported success going over this limit, however we have not tested this. Can I cut a Litcessory Extension Cable to a custom length? No. Litcessory offers several lengths to choose from. Consider using an RJ45 Ethernet Cable Adapter to use a self-provided custom Ethernet cable for a custom length extension cable.
