Lionel Lines O Scale 6017 red caboose. Post-War Lionel item. Unlit but could be easily changed to a lighted caboose. One set of steps is missing, as shown in photos. The coupler seems to work properly except the tiny spring that pops the coupler open does not operate. This permits the coupler to uncouple properly with a load against it, but the spring seems weak. May simply need cleaning and lubrication. Replacements are easy to find. Once closed, the coupler is secure and lost cars should not be a problem. Great as a kid’s toy or wonderful rolling stock. Wheels spin freely and there are no signs of mold or corrosion. Go ahead, spoil yourself today with something extra special. We would like you to know that the sale of this item will help further the community outreach of the Iron Spike Model Train Museum. The funding will increase access to the Scouting merit badge program and Operation Lifesaver. Thank you for considering supporting the work of the volunteers and veterans at the Iron Spike and thanks for furthering our community activities. Sale Benefits Charity. Please see pictures for details. Ask any questions prior to bidding. Proceeds from this sale benefit Iron Spike Model Train Museum (501c(3)) non-profit. MANAGING EXPECTATIONS: We believe the best way to establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships is to manage expectations up front. Before placing any bids, it is important that all bidders understand the following: DESCRIPTIONS: We believe that pictures speak a thousand words. We try to include a variety of brightly lit, clearly focused pictures from multiple angles when necessary. The pictures are a key part of the description. As a supplement to the pictures we will provide a reasonably detailed written description that discloses what we see, what we know and what we think. Between the pictures description and written description, buyers should have a fair opportunity to understand what they are bidding on. If there is something that you do not understand or if you need additional information or pictures please ask in advance of bidding rather than assume anything. TESTING & WARRANTIES: Please understand that we are a volunteer-staffed Museum. We do test everything we sell if possible. However, we do not perform anything other than the most basic testing. We do not perform any kind of detailed and/or internal examination of any engine or motor and make no representation about its suitability for any particular purpose. Accordingly, no warranty of any kind is provided regarding operability even if an item has been tested. The results of any specific testing are provided in good faith as a courtesy only. Your experience may be different. Items we sell may range in age from new to more than 100 years old. At a minimum, basic maintenance and/or lubrication will probably be necessary if you plan to operate any piece you purchase. PAYMENT: Payment via PayPal is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made. eBay rules require you to inquire about alternative payment methods. SHIPPING: When practical, multiple items may be sent together to save on shipping costs. All items are carefully packed and typically shipped as soon as possible after payment clears. Very large packages sometimes are sent via UPS. In the unlikely event that damage occurs during shipping, buyer agrees to process any claim eligible for insurance coverage directly through the carrier. If carrier tracking indicates an item has been delivered, but somehow you did not receive it, buyer agrees to follow through with the local carrier and/or postmaster and process any claim eligible for insurance coverage directly through the carrier. If carrier tracking indicates an item has not been delivered, we will handle the insurance claim. COMMUNICATION: Your inquiries are very important and we will make best efforts to be prompt and thorough with responses. However, because we also operate a Museum and eBay sales are not our primary business the ability to continuously monitor and quickly respond to eBay related communications may be limited. Kindly allow for a reasonable response time to your questions. We greatly appreciate your interest in our listings. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
