This sensor will allow you to operate your furnace in a more efficient manner, utilizing electric defrost over passive air-cooled defrost. It monitors your air temperature and operates the heater element when the temperature drops below 43 degrees F. The Lennox 88K30 Defrost Thermostat/Sensor is an electronic component in a home heating and cooling system used to check if a heat pump needs to be defrosted. It has an overall temperature range from 50-105 degrees Fahrenheit and resistive sensor, which defrosts the coil of the heat pump. The Lennox 88K30 Defrost Thermostat/Sensor is a self-contained defrost control that works with all Lennox gas and electric heat pumps. This unit comes complete with a lead from the sensor, a harness, and a power cord to connect the sensor to the thermostat. A defrost thermostat/sensor for use with any Lennox® compressor.
