Preparation Safety First : Ensure you wear safety glasses and gloves. Park Your Vehicle : Make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake. 2. Lift the Vehicle Use a jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle, depending on which wheel hub bearings you are replacing. Secure the vehicle with jack stands for safety. 3. Remove the Wheel Use the lug wrench to loosen and remove the lug nuts. Take off the wheel and set it aside. 4. Access the Wheel Hub Assembly Depending on your vehicle, you might need to remove the brake caliper and rotor. Remove the brake caliper bolts and carefully hang the caliper using wire (do not let it dangle from the brake line). Remove the rotor if applicable. 5. Remove the Wheel Hub Assembly Locate and remove the retaining nut or bolt that holds the wheel hub assembly in place. If necessary, use a bearing puller to separate the hub assembly from the spindle. 6. Install New Wheel Hub Bearings Clean the spindle area thoroughly before installation. Apply a thin layer of grease to the new bearings as recommended by the manufacturer. Position the new wheel hub bearing onto the spindle and ensure it is seated correctly. 7. Reattach the Wheel Hub Assembly Reinstall the wheel hub assembly and secure it with the retaining nut or bolt, tightening it to the manufacturer’s specifications using a torque wrench. 8. Reassemble the Brake Components Reattach the brake rotor and caliper. Ensure everything is tightened properly. 9. Reinstall the Wheel Place the wheel back onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts. Lower the vehicle off the jack stands and onto the ground. 10. Tighten Lug Nuts Once the vehicle is on the ground, use the torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque. 11. Final Checks Spin the wheel to check for any unusual noises or resistance. Test drive the vehicle at low speeds to ensure everything functions correctly.
