Frank Bullitt Steve McQueen Bullitt police detective movie 12" 1/6 figure

This is a custom 12″ figure of fictional movie San Francisco police detective Frank Bullitt from the 1968 movie “Bullitt”. Frank Bullitt was played by actor Steve McQueen. Steve McQueen was the king of cool in the world of motion pictures. McQueen certainly does not disappoint in this role. The story has an ambitious politician Walter Chalmers (Robert Vaughn) ready to present a key witness at a sub-committee hearing on organized crime. Johnny Ross, a former member of the Organization in Chicago is ready to testify at the hearing in San Francisco on Monday morning. Ross is under San Francisco PD protective custody for the next 40 hours until his meeting on Monday.To help his own image, Chalmers requests the care of his informant Ross, be given to Frank Bullitt, a local San Francisco police detective. Bullitt is popular with the local media which Chalmers knows will help advance his own career. Bullitt’s team consists of Sergeant Delgetti (Don Gordon) and Inspector Carl Stanton (Carl Reindel). The trio have Ross on round the clock protection at a seedy hotel picked by Chalmers. While Bullitt is with his girlfriend Cathy (Jacqueline Bisset) he gets a call from Stanton who is taking his turn baby sitting Ross. it seems Chalmers is at the front desk wanting to come up to speak with Ross. Bullitt suspects Chalmers coming to visit in the middle of the night is unlikely so he tells Stanton he is on his wayand to be ready. Meanwhile for some unknown reason (at the time) Ross has unlocked the door to the hotel room which Stanton discovers too late. Two hit men burst into the room shooting both Stanton and Ross. I won’t tell the rest of the movie but it is a very good story with a plot twist or two. This is one of the best movies of its day and perhaps one of the best ever. The movie also features the greatest car chase of all time as Bullitt and the hitmen try to get the best of each other. While this figure does not look exactly like the character or the actor, there is a bit of a resemblance. sold as is.
