It has an indirect heater filament which, unlike other rectifier valves, can be run from the same 6.3V heater power supply as the other tubes in the amp. It is typically found in low power tube guitar amps below 20W. The EZ81 is a small rectifier tube for 6.3V filaments. It is used in smaller amps, such as the Marshall 1974X or the TAD 18W Plexi Kit, Silverstone amps and in various Hammond organ amplifiers. It is a true full power EZ81.
