Creamy white glass backs up the famous Charles Rennie Mackintosh legendary Art Nouveau Rose design. The gorgeous red rose is accompanied by a green leaf and various colorful glass circles with hues of blue, green, red & purple accented with soldered deco lines. This is simply GORGEOUS! This lovely stained glass piece measures 6” tall and 7.25” side to side. The top metal piece is hollow allowing you to thread filament or thin wire through it so it can be hung securely if desired. ••••••••••••• Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) is a highly-acclaimed Scottish water colorist, artist, designer and architect. One of the most amazing artists of the Art Nouveau Period (1890-1910), he designed with slender curves, clean vibrant geometrics, and soft opalescent colors to achieve an unsurpassed grace and elegance with simplicity. The Art Nouveau ornamental style is characterized by the use of long sinuous lines inspired by nature. This clean simple style found its way into items such as stained glass doors and windows, ornamental elements such as elevator doors and wall sconces. Many of his designs can be found in buildings in New York City such as Rockefeller Center, The Chrysler Building, The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, and others, just to name a few. The designs are timeless — and breathtaking!
