Casa Alegre “The Intellectual” 4-piece set. Made in Portugal by Vista Alegre, this is a delightful and fun four-piece set in “The Intellectual” pattern. Featuring a studious and bespectacled chicken with its foot on a pile of books, this is from a series of designs that seem to be no longer in production. The set comprises: A large dinner plate, 11″ across with the design on the edge. A side, or salad, plate, 9″ across with design covering the plate. A lovely soup, or cereal, bowl, just under 6″ across and about 3″ high with the design on one side and “The Intellectual” title on the inside rim. A mug that is a little over 4.25″ tall, 3.75″ across the rim, again with the design on one side and “The Intellectual” title on inside rim. The set is all in “as new” condition. It has only been on display, never used.
