Bodhi seed is commonly referred to as the wisdom tree, and each seed is said to bear the fruits of knowledge for all beings. It is used for spiritual promise, dedication & faith. Bodhi seed beads can be used for counting all types of mantras, as well as other prayers, prostrations, circumambulations, and so forth. It is the bestower of knowledge and the remover of obstacles too. The Buddha Chitta seed means supreme happiness. Bodhi means “enlightenment” and chitta means “soul.” Therefore, bodhi chitta means “soul of enlightenment.” Buddha chitta seeds were introduced in the Kavre District of Nepal by Guru Padma Sambara. While he was meditating in a cave, he realized that the local people deserved to have peace, happiness and prosperity in future generations. Through his wisdom and enlightenment he gifted the people with the unique buddha chitta tree. This gift brought prosperity and happiness, therefore the seeds became a significant symbol of all that and still are today. The seeds are used in making Buddhist prayer beads also known as malas. establishing an organic connection between the self and others.
