Blue Snakeskin Endler’s have such a unique and beautiful body pattern that is just stunning to see. The males color and spots intensify as they mature and fins get larger and more gorgeous. These are very hardy and breed true to color and are a very beautiful and a very striking Endler. Your fish will look very similar to pictures. There are very slight variations in the body colors and patterns of the individual fish. Please review all pictures. Life span averages from 1 – 3 years if kept in a well maintained tank that doesn’t have uncontrolled Nitrite, Nitrates, and Ammonia levels. Fed a Diet of Variety Flake foods and variety pellets. These fish are not picky eaters but do need a good diet for optimal health. They do best if kept in tanks with clean water and live plants to give them hiding places and give the fry a better chance at survival. Unlike guppies its rare for them to eat their own young. Some of them are determinedly suicidal jumpers, so a cover on the tank is a must. Endler’s are most often found in more stagnant waters, compared to other guppies who prefer faster waters. Endler’s were named after John Endler, a Canadian biologist who re-discovered these fish in 1975 which at that time were considered to be extinct. Endler livebearers are very hardy and undemanding in the aquarium. They prefer hard, warm water, but they will do very well in soft water as well. The warmer the water, the faster they will grow: 27 °C (75-81 °F). This is slightly higher than their guppy cousins, which prefer 23?25 °C (73-77 °F).
