The Matala Biosteps II with 16 watt UV Clarifier is a highly specialized gravity pond filter with a cross flow design, which allows it to easily trap debris at high flow rates. Due to its unique, modular design, this filter can be easily upgraded with a waterfall spillway (not included). It is able to provide filtration for ponds up to 2,700 gallons that have no fish, or 1,350 gallons for ponds with a heavy fish load. This filter additionally includes a 6-pack of Matala Filter Media (2 blue, 2 green, and 2 gray) which both trap debris and provide surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize which help to keep your pond’s ecosystem balanced and healthy . The new “Swivel Inlet Fitting” has barb sizes of 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, and 1-1/2″. The Matala Biosteps II is an open flow gravity return style filter. Comes with a 16 watt UV clarifier for an additional filtration method. The UV shines on algae as it passes through the filter, killing it and keeping your pond clean and clear.
