Here is a sterling silver fork and knife made by Gorham in their very desirable Virginia Pattern. The fork measures 6-1/4 inches long, and is solid sterling silver, weighing 33.2 grams. The knife measures 7-3/8 inches long and has a sterling silver wrapped handle. The knife blade is silver plated. I have not cleaned or polished the pieces but they will shine beautifully if you prefer. There will be some light scuffs and tarnish. The tines of the fork look bent but are not – that is the way it was made. The silver plate on the knife blade does show wear on the edges under magnification. The pieces are monogram engraved T.E.M. The fork is marked on back with the Gorham mark, the pat. date, and sterling. The knife also contains the Gorham hallmarks and the word sterling. Winning bidder will receive the actual item pictured.
